We collaborate closely with our customers to help deliver their acquisition strategy.

In terms of project form, scale, venue, returns, capital intensity, strategic alliances and project length, requirements differ with each client. We assess all of these specifications and give you an insight using our extensive market knowledge. Detailed recommendations are then made to develop a concise and refined acquisitions mandate.

From here, we develop a unique strategy for our clients that best suits them and then implement an approach for site identification and acquisition.

Joint Ventures

Onyx Capital has carried out and continues to carry out a number of highly successful joint venture projects.

A joint venture project is where we collaborate with a landowner to either develop the property on behalf of the landowner or in partnership with the landowner. It is possible to engage our joint venture partners as much or as little as they want. The way they are organised is part of the key to success of our joint venture projects. We believe in a system that is absolutely fair and equitable to the owner of the land. Using this method, Onyx Capital does not obtain any distribution of the project’s income until the landowner has been paid a negotiated value that was calculated prior to the project’s commencement. In other words, we get paid only after our partner has been paid. In virtually all cases, the most money a landowner can gain by the sale of their property is carried out through a joint venture vehicle.

The explanation is clear. The land of the property owner is ‘written down’ right from the start at a negotiated value and the owner gets to share in the project’s income on top of this. It’s like the old saying, “Have your cake and eat it too”.

An important aspect of all our joint ventures is that the partnership supports and benefits all parties.
